I am unashamed
"If you put shame in a petri dish, it needs three ingredients to grow exponentially: secrecy, silence, and judgment. If you put the same amount of shame in the petri dish and douse it with empathy, it can’t survive"
Do you have any things in your life that you think ‘if anyone found out about this I don’t know how I would survive’? Shame breeds in the silence, but when we bring things into the light, they lose their power.
If you struggle with shame, hiding, mask wearing or performance, I really encourage you to find a couple of trustworthy friends, who you can practice being vulnerable with. As you let yourself be known, for the real, behind the scenes you, shame will flee.
For me, learning to be vulnerable was instrumental in getting free of addiction and I know it will be a valuable key for you too. Learn more about my thoughts on getting free from shame in this weeks video!
