I am free from me
Hello,
What comes to mind when I say you must die to yourself?
When I first heard this I got the wrong end of the stick and thought that I had to give up everything that I liked, all the quirks, interests, hobbies and become a blank white page for God to use. However I now understand that dyeing to self isn’t the end of all of the good bits of us, it’s the beginning. Hear more here…
Dying to self, really means dying to sin and the fleshy, carnal, ego side that has controlled many of us for years. Dying to self is actually the gateway to becoming fully you, as it is walking into the spirit-empowered life that will most enable you to shine and become who God has made you to be.
Romans 6 says that we die with Christ, in order to be raised with Christ and live our new life. Yes please, I want old, selfish, fleshy Thea to die, in order that Christ in Thea may live, manifesting the fruits of the spirit and a new creation identity (Galatians 5:22-23), rather than the works of the flesh (Galatians 5:19-22).
Who is with me?
Love Thea x
