HOW DO YOU MOTIVATE YOURSELF TO DO THINGS YOU DON’T WANT TO DO?

What tasks cause you to procrastinate most? For me, it is sometimes the big creative projects that I really want to do, but don’t know where to start and other times it is the drearily dull admin necessities like changing my driving license address!

Both can elicit a dragging of the heels which is so counter productive. The lie is that 'life is easier if I avoid said task'. The truth is that 'there
is freedom and satisfaction in facing and overcoming the things that daunt or fill us with dread'.

The bigger truth is that the safest place is in the centre of God’s will. So if God has asked something of you - whether that be moving to a certain country or simple sending a particular email - wisdom is to get on and do it, without delay or double mindedness. 

Today’s declaration is I AM SURRENDERED TO GOD’S WILL

 There is no better model than Jesus, who only did what He saw the Father doing. And when push came to shove He surrendered His will to God’s. In the Garden of Gethsemane Jesus cried out ‘if there is any other way, please take this cup from me’ (Luke 22:42). He knew what God has asked of Him and he was desperate for a way out. But after that deep heart cry, where did he return?…

‘Yet not my will but yours be done’.

Let that be our heart cry today. Whatever situation comes to mind, where maybe you have been resisting God’s will, or not even daring to ask, surrender it to the Father today and ask for His will to be done above your own. 

 Those who lose their life for Christ truly find it. Surrender everything to Jesus today and you will gain far more in return.
