God save the King!

Let all of the festivites this weekend serve to remind you that you are royalty! You are a beloved child of the King of Kings; the ultimate ruler, whose kingdom has no end.

I wonder whether King Charles feels ready to be king, or whether he feels overwhelmed and ill equipped. Maybe even like an imposter. Either way, the crown is going on his head and that’s that, his feelings don’t really matter!

So it is with you and me. We are children on the King. We have been given a new identity in Christ and He says we are loved, precious, known, made in His image and overcomers, even when we don’t feel like it.

Furthermore, you have a job to rule and reign. God has given you authority to heal the sick, cast out demons, raise the dead, bind up the broken hearted, proclaim liberty to the captives and to preach His gospel. He says you CAN do it, even if you don’t feel like it. And He wants to use you, even if you feel useless.

So let every crown you see this weekend serve as a reminder of your true identity. Take your place as royalty in God’s family. Remember who you really are and from that place love and serve those around you, like the servant king whose image we bear.
