What comes to mind when I say ‘conflict’? 

Most of us quiver inside at the four words; ‘We need to talk’! Deep down we fear conflict and many of us try to avoid it at all costs. Largely because few of us have ever learnt how to do it well. We don’t get taught how to do it at school, or even at church. And so most of us end up copying what our parents did, and the chances are that no-one taught them to do it well either! 

Christmas can be a funny old time for bringing up ‘stuff’. Alongside all the wonder, joy and celebration, this time of the year can also prod areas of pain, unforgiveness, resentment, bitterness and disappointment. 

Is there anyone in your life who you need to resolve some sort of conflict with?

I came across this talk by Rick Warren recently and it is gold, for giving some keys and understanding around how to do conflict resolution well.

I pray that your greatest gift this Christmas is some area of healing, that enables you to walk into next year more whole, free and ready for all that God has for you.
